Introducing myself to the wedding industry :S

So I thought I would be even more pro active and I have created a facebook Page for people who offer wedding related services/products and for brides to be.
The best way to get work is by networking with other people so It makes sense for us all to stick together and to help each other.
Well so far it has gone really well and with in a matter of hours it has managed to receive 43 likes woop woop the majority being wedding providers so if you are a bride to be or a provider please facebook
'The Wedding Ring'.
I would love to eventually have a small publication with lots of services providers in but for the time being I will stick to the facebook page and my blog.
Thanks for reading guys x

Bringing back the 70's/80's for 2011?

So apparently the new style for 2011 is going to be a revisit to the 70/80's eras with big fuzzy hair, so get your crimpers out girls because it is time to get fierce.
This is NOT an easy style to carry off but if you can it will look fabulous :D
If this is a look you cannot carry off then maybe try the big bouncy/flicky blow dry, it gives you some sleekness but keeps the mega body

You need to achieve root lift and if you find blow drying to difficult them why not buy your self some crimpers, then section hair and just crimp once at the roots, DO NOT crimp the top section of hair as you do not want the crimp to show just to add some desired volume.

If neither of these are your thing then why not try Plaits, in this year again as they are so easy to maintain, perfect for when your on the beach or attending festivals and they always look cute and can work with a range of hair cuts and textures.

The most important thing though is to have fun with your hair and to go with what best suits you x

Wedding fayre Lostwithiel Hotel and country club

So the first Cornish brides wedding fair of the year is fast approaching
6th February 2011.

In my attempts to get ready I have printed out lots of photos of my work and have placed them in a wedding album ready to show on the day along with having a computer monitor hooked up to my laptop to run a slide show of my work.

New wedding contracts have been types and printed ready to have on hand on the day for anyone booking at the fayre (you will receive a special fayre discount).

All that is left now is to do up an A4 Poster to display, my wedding packages/price list to be printed and placed in a folder and my hair designs to be done on my training heads to display some of the work i am capable of.

Wedding Fayre's are always a great place to network and I always enjoy having a wonder around and chatting to the other attendants. You never know what can come of just chatting to other people in the industry so I'm looking forward to it :D

Getting Married in Cornwall this year?

If so how do you find out which/who to go for, for your wedding services eg. photography, hairstyling, make up, flowers, dresses and all the small details like invites, wedding favours and what underwear to put on under your dress.

Word of mouth is always a great way to start so im going to recommend some fab wedding service providers for you now.

Always shop around for your dress as different places stock different styles and you need to make sure you have seen everything that is available.

Hand made invites so that you can put your own personal style on them, then email katiehatherly@yahoo.co.uk  She will design the perfect invite for your day.

I would also recommend attending wedding fayres to see and speak to a good range of people and to make the most of possible promotion and booking discounts.

More wedding tips and recommendations to follow thanks for reading :D x

Model Photoshoots

                                                     Codi Davies

Model Photo shoots are a chance for the model and us to build on out portfolios and are a great chance to try new things and have a bit of fun.
This shoot was done in a studio but we also do location shoots which can offer such a diversity of looks.
For Codi we were letting her stunning features shine through and decided to add some detailing on the hair in the form of a weave, the side ponytail to keep the look sleek and not too over the top as i did not want to take away from the funky eye catching make up and of course the high quiff to make it stand out and to elongate her face.
All her make up is 100% mineral make up from www.Angelfaceonline.com
If ordering on this site please quote Jodie :D

If you are interested in using codi for modeling you can find her on Model Mayhem, she is cornwall based x
